Why I Run
Currently, 37 million American adults are living with kidney disease, and I would like to raise more awareness to this health issue.  I run because 1 in 3 people are at risk for kidney disease and more than 1 in 7 have it but aren’t aware.

I am running the New York City Marathon on November 5th to raise funds that support the National Kidney Foundation. The NKF was the first to identify kidney disease as a distinct, treatable illness, and went on to develop the staged system for its diagnosis and treatment – a worldwide standard today.

This will be my first ever marathon, but what better than to run in NYC amongst 50,000 other runners. I am super excited. I started running here and there to get into better shape to hike Mt. Whitney, and now I am hooked on running. I've done the half marathon and have plans for a couple more before the big day in the Big Apple this November.

Please consider joining me in support of the National Kidney Foundation.

Thank you!
